How Vacuum-Assisted Technology Works
The vacuum gently draws skin into the handpiece, stretching it thin and drawing the target closer to the energy source. Energy is applied to the target, causing melanocytes to spread apart and blood flow to be constricted. The target is damaged, and the skin is released.
Advantages of High-Speed Vacuum Assisted Technology
-
Efficacy: A reduction in competing chromophores enables the delivery of laser energy more efficiently.
-
Safety: Less energy is absorbed by the epidermis and lower fluence is required since the target is closer to the energy source.
-
Decreased pain: The unique vacuum mechanism activates tactile and pressure skin receptors to inhibit the transmission of pain sensation.

FAQs
How many treatments do you need for the hair to be gone?
6 to 9 treatments every 4 to 8 weeks. The number of treatments required can vary depending on the area being treated and hormonal conditions. Once you are happy with results, maintenance treatments are recommended once or twice a year.
How do I prepare for my laser treatment?
You prepare by shaving the area the day of or day before the treatment as thoroughly as possible and avoiding caffeine as this makes you more sensitive. No waxing/sugaring/tweezing/nair for 3-4 weeks before only shaving. If you fail to arrive pre-shaven the appointment will need to be rescheduled.
How often should I come for treatment?
Every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the area being treated.
What can I do after the laser? Does it hurt? How long does it take?
No heat or exercise 24 hours post treatment. The treatment has mild discomfort, and feels similar to a hot elastic band snapping on the skin. Depending on the area being treated the treatment may take 5-45 minutes. Please review my post care instructions and make sure you do not have any inappropriate activities scheduled for the next 24-48 hours such as gym, tanning, saunas etc.
Can you get laser hair removal while pregnant?
No, the skin's increased sensitivity it too risky for laser hair removal to be performed. Is it best to complete a full series of treatments before getting pregnant and continuing with maintenance sessions up until you conceive. This will result in less hair growth post-pregnancy. Hormones have a large impact on hair growth. Pregnancy can increase some hair growth especially in certain areas. You can schedule a laser hair removal session once you're postpartum. But, it is important to give your body a break after delivery. Also, hormones take time to regulate after you've given birth. It is therefore recommended that you wait 4-6 months after delivery for a laser treatment. It’s always recommended to consult with your healthcare professional first before going back to your laser maintenance.
Can you get laser hair removal while breastfeeding?
Hormonal changes associated with pregnancy and breastfeeding do tend to increase hair growth but waiting until after the birth of the baby to begin or continue treatments will not affect the results. Laser hair removal during breastfeeding is fine as long as it is not done on the areola or breast tissue. Your hormones may not fully balance until 1 year post-breastfeeding, so you may require a few extra treatments during this time.
Does all your hair come back after getting pregnant?
No! As long as you have completed your series of treatments and continued with maintenance this should prevent the amount of hormonal hair that may return. You may see a bit come back and require a small series of 1-3 treatments postpartum. Each individual is different, so it is impossible to determine the exact amount that may come back.
Do you offer intimate male laser hair removal?
No, but we will laser all other areas of the male body.
