FAQs

What are eyelash extensions?

The Lash Extensions used at Boho Bliss are synthetic Mink and Silk and are applied individually to the natural lash, with a professional-grade adhesive.

How long do eyelash extensions usually last?

A full set will last as long as your natural lash cycle, which is anywhere from 4-6 weeks, depending on the individual. We recommend getting a fill anywhere between 2 and 3 weeks.

How long does it take to apply eyelash extensions?

Our artists can apply a beautiful Full Set of lashes in 1.5 hours-2.5 hours, depending on the type of extensions and amount of natural lashes. We ask you to generally plan on 60-90 minutes for a fill as well. We like to remove any grown out lashes, clean them up, and make your lashes look brand new every time you come in, this will ensure the retention and life of your extensions.

Can I wear makeup with my lashes?

YES! Although we don’t recommend wearing any mascara or using any oil based products, as it will shorten the life of your lash extensions.

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

No! When applied properly, with perfect isolation and weight eyelash extensions will not harm your natural lashes. Our lash artists are experienced and certified, the most important thing to us is the integrity of your natural lash. During your initial consultation we will evaluate your natural lashes to ensure you get the lashes that work best for your natural lashes so that you will never have damage or breakage!

How do I care for my lash extensions?

→ Do not get the lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours including: Steam, Tears, Showering, Swimming, Eye Makeup Remover. This is crucial to get the best retention possible! → Brush your lashes straight as needed. → No oil based products → Do not touch, play with, or pick at your Lashes! → Do not use a lash curler on them.

What should I do before my lash appointment?

1. Thoroughly wash your eyes with oil free face wash or eye makeup remover 2. Do not wear any eye make-up, but if you do we have remover here! 3. Do not curl lashes

Can you get lash extensions while pregnant/breastfeeding?

Yes! However, hormonal changes, may affect your lash retention. You may not notice any changes, but some find their lashes are weaker, or they fall out very quickly, or their oil production increases resulting in the extensions not lasting as long.

What is a Lash Lift?

A lash lift works with your natural lashes to create a luscious semi-permanent curl that will last between 4-6 weeks. We use a technique combining a lifting lotion and silicone pads to lift your natural lashes, making them look longer and fuller. We recommend lash lifts as a great alternative to eyelash extensions.

How long does a Lash Lift last?

A lash lift will last about 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) depending on aftercare. Following the aftercare instructions given above for the first 24 hours after your treatment will help with longevity. In addition, we recommend brushing your lashes in an upright position anytime following a shower (or after getting your lashes wet) to help keep the shape of them.

How do you prepare for a Lash Lift?

Prior to your treatment, please make sure your eyes are free of makeup, mascara, and false eyelashes. If you use Latisse or another lash serum, please stop product use for 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. Lastly, if you wear contact lenses please make sure they are removed prior to treatment.

Lash Lift “Don’ts” in the first 24 hours after treatment:

Don’t get your eyelashes wet Don’t apply mascara or eye makeup Don’t sweat Don’t go into a sauna Don’t use oil-based products Don’t rub your eyes

Why can’t I get my eyelashes wet after a Lash Lift?

It’s best to avoid any type of moisture to your lashes for at least 24 hours following your lash treatment. This is because in the immediate hours after the lift, the lashes are returning to a normal PH level. Water, mascara, etc. can weigh down the lashes and compromise the lift that was set via the chemical change from your treatment. Think of it as being similar to getting your hair done at the salon. You wouldn’t want your hair to get rained on after leaving the salon as it would cause the hair to go flat - water would have similar effects to your newly lifted eyelashes.

Can you get a lash lift while pregnant/breastfeeding?

Yes, getting a lash lift while you're pregnant is perfectly safe!

What is brow lamination?

Eyebrow lamination is the latest beauty secret that will enhance your natural brows. Similar to the idea of a lash lift, brow lamination involves the application of a setting lotion that gives the brow hair a semi-permanent “brushed up” and lifted look. Whether you have thin, thick, or over plucked eyebrows, brow laminating is the perfect solution to give you the everyday look you want, without effort.

How long does brow lamination last?

A brow lamination will last about 4-6 weeks (again, depending on aftercare). Be sure to follow the “Don’ts” mentioned above in the first 24 hours following your treatment for longevity. In the 48 hours following your treatment, you can apply a hydrating balm or a castor oil to your brows daily. We also recommend brushing your brows in an upright/styled position anytime following a shower (or after getting your brows wet) to help keep their new shape.

What should I do before my lamination appointment?

Prior to your brow lamination appointment, we recommend the following: 1. Avoid using exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for 5-7 days before your brow lamination 2. Avoid tweezing at least one week prior to your appointment (your appointment does include a brow wax). 3. Please come to your appointment without any makeup on your face.

Brow Lamination “Don’ts” in the first 24 hours after treatment:

Don’t get your eyebrows wet (avoid the shower & bath) Don’t go into a sauna Don’t use oil based products Don’t apply heavy creams, makeup, or makeup remover to your brows Don’t sleep directly on your brows (we know, easier said than done for our stomach sleepers)

Why can’t I get my brows wet after a lamination?

Similar to a lash lift, keeping your brows dry in the 24 hours following your lamination treatment is very important. During the lamination process, we use an assortment of creams as well as a permanent gel to relax and shape your brows. If you get your eyebrows wet too soon after we finish applying these products, your brows do not have a chance to set with their new shape.

Can you get brow lamination while pregnant/breastfeeding?

We do not recommend Brow Lamination treatments during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. The treatment could be less effective due to changing hormones or the skin may not respond as well to the treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Can you get henna brows while pregnant/breastfeeding?

It is unwise to apply Henna Brows during pregnancy. It certainly does not harm the unborn child, but you would not want a pregnant woman to have an allergic reaction, which is more likely due to hormones and a higher sensitivity.

Can you get your lashes or brows tinted while pregnant/breastfeeding?

Yes, just be sure to advise your esthetician that you are pregnant at this time.
